Starting a Business on a Budget

From the time I was a young boy, I always knew I wanted to be my own business owner. Later in life, I ended up working in an office and barely making ends meet. I kept telling myself that I couldn't start my own business until I saved up a certain amount of money or finally cleaned up my credit and got approved for a loan. Eventually, I realized that if I wanted to start a business, I just could not wait any longer and had to do it on a tight budget. I made things work, and I am now a successful business owner. I learned a lot while building my business and still learn every day, so I decided to start a blog to help other new business owners. I plan to post many tips, so come back often for new tips.

Must-Have Metal-Detectable & X-Ray-Visible Products for Food Producers

If your new business will be producing food products, then it's vital you use stationery products and kitchen utensils that can be seen on X-ray and metal detecting quality assurance machines. This is important to ensure none of your food products are ever accidentally contaminated by foreign objects.

Made with special polymers and other advanced materials, metal-detectable and X-ray-visible foodservice products are easily seen on quality insurance scanners and will ensure the materials used to create your food products never end up inside of them. If you are new to the food product production industry and are curious about available products, then listed below are some of the must-have items:

1. Detectable Gloves

Latex and latex-alternative gloves are a requirement when you are preparing food for sale. However, gloves are easy to catch on something and tear and when this happens small pieces can end up in your end product. For this reason, all of the gloves in your foodservice company should be detectable.

2. Detectable Surface Wipes and Sponges

Food prep areas require you and your workers to utilize sponges, surface wipes, and other cleaning tools that are detectable. Since pieces of these things can easily break off and end up in the food, they need to be detected before the food leaves your production environment.

3. Detectable Food Pens

While your employees may lose a lot of pens and you may be tempted to purchase packages of inexpensive ballpoint pens at your local dollar store, this is never advised. The pens used on your production floor need to be detectable. Typically, metal-detectable food pens are made of one outer piece of plastic and are retractible versus having removable caps so there are fewer parts that could potentially contaminate the food.

4. Detectable Calculators

If you use a hand-held calculator to calculate the amount of each ingredient you need when expanding or shrinking your production run size, then it should be detectable. Sometimes the buttons or other parts come off of a calculator if it is dropped and it's important they can be found if they land inside of a food product.

These are just a few products that will help you run a successful business. You'll be able to confidently prepare and provide food without worrying so much about liability issues. If you have questions about these or other detectable products, it is advisable to contact services such as Detectapro.
