Starting a Business on a Budget

From the time I was a young boy, I always knew I wanted to be my own business owner. Later in life, I ended up working in an office and barely making ends meet. I kept telling myself that I couldn't start my own business until I saved up a certain amount of money or finally cleaned up my credit and got approved for a loan. Eventually, I realized that if I wanted to start a business, I just could not wait any longer and had to do it on a tight budget. I made things work, and I am now a successful business owner. I learned a lot while building my business and still learn every day, so I decided to start a blog to help other new business owners. I plan to post many tips, so come back often for new tips.

Improve Your Company Morale By Hanging Art Using Edge Finding Tools

There are many different ways that you can improve the morale of your company if you find it is dipping a little. One of the best and least expensive ways is to hang high-quality art on your walls. And using an edge finding tool can make this process easier and more effective.

Art Can Improve Company Morale

Your employees want to work in an environment that is comfortable and attractive. If your walls are barren of art or any kind of decoration, your employees are likely to feel unconsciously uncomfortable and unhappy when at work. This small problem can become big over time and make your employees quit the job to find another.

Therefore, it is wise to make your office look more attractive and interesting for your employees. Hanging pictures and other types of art on the wall can make the office a more comfortable and attractive place to hang out for extended periods of time. However, it is also easy to make several common errors when trying to hang your art in your office that can make it less attractive.

For example, hanging heavy framed photos on drywall without extra support will likely damage your wall and make the picture fall down. Hanging artwork requires finding the studs in the wall that support your drywall. And the best and easiest way to do that is to use an edge finding tool.

How Edge Finders Help

Edge finding tools are also known as "stud detectors" and they operate by detecting the edge of the supporting 2x4 boards in your walls. Running one across your wall will provide you with a good idea of where these pieces of lumber are located, making it easier for you to hang a picture.

Once you find the edges of a board, you can estimate the center, place the picture on the wall in the appropriate area, and hang it up using a nail. This process will make sure that the piece of art hangs without falling and prevents the kind of embarrassing holes in the wall that can make your employees laugh at you a bit.

So if you want to hang art in your office but don't want to leave gaping holes in the walls, it is important to invest in an edge finding tool. These items are usually quite inexpensive and will accurately find studs in your wall. Just as importantly, they can be used for other purposes, including hanging drywall and more, if your need to upgrade your office.
